Easter
At Albergo Botti you can participate in the traditions and famous Corfiot Easter that unfolds right in front of your eyes. On Holy Thursday you can participate in the Holy Passion service either at the church of Agios Spyridon or at the Catholic Cathedral (Duomo). That same evening do not miss the famous Easter concert at the Church of St. George in the Old Fortress. On Holy Friday, dozens of Epitaphs pass by Albergo Botti, with the Epitaph of the Metropolitan Church, where the three major Philharmonics play mournful marches (Adagio Albinoni). On Holy Saturday morning, after the Epitaph of Saint Spyridon – where the Old Philharmonic plays the famous “Hamlet”, you can throw your “botti” – the clay pot – out of your window, participating in the custom of the first Resurrection. The Resurrection is celebrated at midnight in the Spianada with thousands of lit candles, marching bands and an incredible display of fireworks. On Easter Sunday, you can enjoy from 7:30am the Resurrection processions which are always accompanied by music, playing triumphant and joyful marches.
